Daily Devotional for December 7, 2021 – Clinging to Christ’s promises…learning to “let go and let God”

Mark 10:23-31
Looking at his disciples, Jesus said, “Do you have any idea how difficult it is for people who ‘have it all’ to enter God’s kingdom?” The disciples couldn’t believe what they were hearing, but Jesus kept on: “You can’t imagine how difficult. I’d say it’s easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for the rich to get into God’s kingdom.”

That got their attention. “Then who has any chance at all?” they asked.

Jesus was blunt: “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off by yourself. Every chance in the world if you let God do it.”

Peter tried another angle: “We left everything and followed you.”

Jesus said, “Mark my words, no one who sacrifices house, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, land—whatever—because of me and the Message will lose out. They’ll get it all back, but multiplied many times in homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land—but also in troubles. And then the bonus of eternal life! This is once again the Great Reversal: Many who are first will end up last, and the last first.”

IMG_9155_mediumI’ve had quite the “pity party” this morning. A childhood friend who lives across the street from Grandma E called to tell us that the new owners of Grandma’s house have cut down her beloved gingko tree. Grandma planted this tree almost 20 years ago from a seed she found in Hannibal, Missouri, while on a Mississippi River cruise. The tree towered into the sky and provided the most amazing canopy of brilliant yellow leaves each fall. In recent weeks, we’ve watched the leaves change color, and just a few days ago, I snapped several photos and collected about 50 leaves to press between the pages of a Bible for posterity.

This tree was my mother-in-law’s pride and joy. We often photographed her with this tree in full yellow splendor during late fall. Grandma loved other plantings in the yard, too…a dogwood Greg purchased for her, several gardenia bushes, hydrangeas, and a towering camellia in the back yard that has been loaded with pink buds just waiting to open. When I learned that someone was there cutting trees and removing shrubbery and bushes, my heart sank. I know this property belongs to someone else – and they are free to do as they please with it. But these were GRANDMA’s plants and trees…and they were an extension of her to us.

In the last year, Greg and I have cleared out and sold my childhood home – and his mother’s house. When I read this passage from Mark 10, I thought about all the “stuff” – even the plants and trees. We become attached to our belongings, and they often become far too important or significant to us in some manner. Even plants become an extension of the person who cared for them. We do the same thing with people and relationships, pets, our careers, and more. And Jesus reminds us that we need to get our priorities in order so that we don’t miss out on a minute of His abundance – or the “bonus” of Eternal Life!

I realize that there are far nicer gingko trees in Heaven. I also was reminded that Grandma E could care less about that tree or her shrubbery and plants now. She has so many beautiful things to enjoy every minute. If she could talk to us, she would probably tell us that these earthly flora and fauna are NOTHING compared to what awaits us. And I believe that many of the belongings that were so important to our parents – and the family members of others who have gone to heaven – would hold no significance now. I can almost hear them saying, “It’s all just ‘stuff!'”

This doesn’t mean that we have got to sell everything we own, leave our family, friends, job and home, and become nomadic missionaries. Jesus is telling us to think about what we love and worship. Jesus is reminding us that when all is stripped away, He is still there – making a difference every minute of the day.

Too many of us have become comfortable in our present circumstances. We think if we pare down – or realign our priorities – we will “lose” a lot that is dear to us. Jesus disputes this completely. He tells us that nobody who “sacrifices” because of Him and His Message will lose out.

We have photos and memories of the beautiful gingko tree. And we have the promise of even BETTER trees and beauty to behold someday in Heaven! In this season of giving and getting, we may not be thinking that “less is more.” But truly, less of what we think is important – and more of Jesus is what we need.

Spend some time in prayer and consideration of where you need to “get rid of stuff” or “let go and let God” – and realign your goals and priorities. Put Jesus first in all things and see where He takes you. We have every chance in the world of pulling this off if we let God have complete authority. Make this the day that you ask Him to take control. Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for September 10, 2020 – Staying on the path to peace and rest with Jesus…”you can’t just go into the forest!”

Philippians 4:6-7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.

A few days ago, the children came over for a driveway visit. We took a walk down a nearby nature trail, and we reminisced about other trips down this same path. Greg and I reminded Timothy of a day when he was four and we visited this area. He climbed atop a rock, and Greg walked away on the trail. Timothy shouted after him, “Uncle Greg! Get back here! You can’t just go into the forest!” I have this on video, and I checked the date – September 9, 2013.

Believe it or not, the September 9th entry in Jesus Calling* talks about pathways, and how we wander away from Jesus with our worries and concerns. He knows where we are – and we often wander back to Him. But we exert so much energy and waste a lot of time in the process. If we had simply given these to Jesus in the first place, we would likely experience more peace and confidence. Our minds would be at rest and free to focus on other things.

Worry is a lot of work. I should know – I’m an expert worrier in a long line of “accomplished worriers”! I’m working hard to correct this…to avoid wandering away “into the forest” and down deviating paths that ultimately go nowhere. I have made an effort to change my prayers from, “LORD, I want you to fix XYZ” to “LORD…I give this to You to handle as You see fit.” And I try to always remember to thank Jesus for the privilege of giving Him my burdens. There have been enough times where Jesus filled me with His “peace that passes all understanding”…and I am confident that He can keep my heart quiet and at rest.

We have plenty that we could worry about these days…and I’ve done my share of it. I always wind back along the path and end up at the feet of Jesus – which is where I should have been all along. Let’s make a concerted effort to pray more and worry less. Let’s try our hardest to truly give Jesus complete control – and bask in His peace that is more wonderful than our minds can understand. Let’s stay “out of the forest” and on the right path. Let’s offer Jesus our gratitude and praise – and allow Him to do the heavy lifting. His peace will keep our thoughts and hearts quiet and at rest. All we have to do is let Him.

Daily Devotional for August 3, 2020 – God’s door is open…where is He sending you?

August 3 ~ Acts 10:34-38
Peter fairly exploded with his good news: “It’s God’s own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you’re from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open. The Message he sent to the children of Israel—that through Jesus Christ everything is being put together again—well, he’s doing it everywhere, among everyone.

“You know the story of what happened in Judea. It began in Galilee after John preached a total life-change. Then Jesus arrived from Nazareth, anointed by God with the Holy Spirit, ready for action. He went through the country helping people and healing everyone who was beaten down by the Devil. He was able to do all this because God was with him.

Scripture quotations from The Message. © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene Peterson. Used by permission of NavPress, Colorado Springs, CO. All rights reserved.

For every person who says, “I’m only one person…what can I do?”, I could tell you stories of ten people who individually made a profound difference. A case in point would be my friend Missy, who as of July 23rd had made 2200 masks to share with a local hospital, clinic – and anyone else who needed them. She had burned through one sewing machine, and a new one was ordered, and she is still sewing.

If you knew Missy, you would know that sewing masks is the tip of the iceberg for what she does to serve those around her. You would also know that she has a laundry list of physical ailments and limitations, none of which stop her from God’s missions and ministries. For the 41 years that I have been honored to know this woman, I have always thought of her as someone whose mind was racing with opportunities and possibilities to serve in the name of Jesus – wherever, whenever and however she could. And I have been blessed countless times to be one of the recipients of her efforts.

I could name at least three people who delivered meals or in-home care to senior citizens, and for various circumstances, that service ended. In each instance, the “senior” tearfully declared that the “service” was secondary to the company…and his/her life was going to be greatly lacking because of this loss. Something as simple as a 5-minute visit to drop off a meal can have a truly profound impact on the life of another – and serve God in a huge way.

You and I do not have the “healing power” of Jesus…and we never will. But God has equipped us to “heal” and bless in other ways…many of which are often just as significant. We can offer hope, courage, companionship, compassion, and empathy to another. We can serve as the “eyes and ears” to ensure that nothing is missed. We can check on neighbors and friends, so that when we detect a problem, it can be brought to the attention of those who can properly address it. We can serve our community in a myriad of ways, from volunteering to fostering pets from the animal shelter to encouraging others to vote in upcoming elections.

We don’t even have to leave our homes to accomplish many things in service to God. My friend Missy has been pretty well house bound since this pandemic began, yet she manages to do so many things for others. I know someone who telephones two or three persons in her “small group” each day, just to check on them. I know others who send cards, texts and e-mails of encouragement and as “buddy checks”. God has blessed us with an abundance of technology and innovations that make serving Him often as easy as the press of a button.

Just as surely as Salvation, Eternal Life, and God’s abundant blessings are available to anyone who chooses to follow Christ…the opportunities to serve are equally accessible. The God who saves us can also use us. We have been anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish whatever missions and ministries God chooses for us. It is up to us to say, “Here I am, LORD…send me.” There is no time to waste…we all need to get busy. Each of us has a purpose and can accomplish amazing things for God’s Kingdom. The door is open…where is He calling you to serve these days?

Daily Devotional for July 17, 2020 – Finding God’s hope and peace – especially during a pandemic!

Romans 15:13
I pray that God, who gives hope, will bless you with complete happiness and peace because of your faith. And may the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope.

Scripture taken from the Contemporary English Version © 1991,1992, 1995 by American Bible Society, Used by Permission.

Four months, and counting. This is how long I have personally been self-isolated because of the COVID-19 pandemic. If you follow my daily devotionals, you know that like many people, I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster. It seems longer ago than four months, but I remember the anxiety I felt before things began to close. Should I go here or there? Was this activity or that location truly safe? I remember the last time we ate inside a restaurant. We were nervous…and we did not partake of the complimentary “bean and relish” buffet that we’ve enjoyed countless times in the past. About two weeks later, restaurants and other establishments began to close at a rapid pace.

As the weeks have come and gone, we’ve somewhat adjusted (with God’s help). We’ve settled into a routine – and found some new activities/coping mechanisms. We’re still figuring out how to stay connected with our family at a six-foot-or-better distance…and of course, we wear our masks as necessary. We’ve made it through holidays and birthday celebrations…and we’ve accepted that summer camp, VBS, and other activities are “off the table” for the foreseeable future. We’ve come to appreciate grocery pickup, ordering online – and our mail carrier is truly invaluable to us!

I remember being so concerned about our safety the last Sunday we gathered to worship…and a little more than an hour later, our governor closed schools and began to shut down businesses and other entities. In recent weeks, I’ve spent a lot of time asking God to help us get a handle on this virus – and to provide an incentive for people to wear masks and stifle the spread. Yesterday, our governor finally announced that wearing of masks will be mandatory in our state, beginning next week. I am praying about the return to school…and I see God working things out. Just yesterday, our school’s band director suspended several upcoming activities, because students cannot presently play brass and wind instruments. I know that school officials are working to figure out how to make a return to the classroom happen safely – and whether this is even possible.

I’m not saying that these cancellations make me happy…but they do give me some relief…and some hope. I see that God is working through these situations and showing people what needs to be done in order to stop the spread of COVID-19…and to get us back to some semblance of life as we knew it. And I am also hopeful that we have learned some valuable lessons…that moving forward, we pay attention to what was never working…that we are more careful, thoughtful – and grateful.

I pray that we are learning that so many of the things we thought were incredibly critical truly are not all that important…that regular haircuts and “beauty treatments” are more of a luxury than a necessity…that we have way too much “stuff” and spent far too many hours shopping for things we really didn’t need. I pray that we have learned the real value of hugs, meals shared with friends and loved ones, and good health. I pray that we are learning every day that God is always with us…that He is still in the business of giving us hope, peace, and good news.

We’re not out of the woods yet. I pray that in the days/weeks/months to come – or however long it takes to get a handle on this – you feel the presence (and hope) of the Holy Spirit. I pray that you seek God’s will – and see His hand – in even the smallest of details of your life and this pandemic. I pray that the God of Hope fills you with His peace…this day, and in all the days to come.

Daily Devotional for July 14, 2020 – Hang onto your “Life Raft”!

July 14 ~ Psalm 93:4
The ocean is roaring, Lord!
The sea is pounding hard.
Its mighty waves are majestic,
but you are more majestic,
and you rule over all.

Scripture taken from the Contemporary English Version © 1991,1992, 1995 by American Bible Society, Used by Permission.

Outside my window, rain is coming down…a welcome respite from July heat in Arkansas. This is a brief event…the weather forecasters say it will be gone by afternoon. So for now, I enjoy the thunder and darkness, knowing that the soaking rain will nourish thirsty land and vegetation and provide a needed hydration. The gentle thundershowers of summer are nothing to fear or dread.

Every one of us has “summer thundershowers” in our lives…the little challenges – and irritations – that come and go. Right now, our world is in the midst of a “tsunami”. We are challenged every day by the demands of COVID-19. We are called to decide where it is safe to even stand or sit…whether we need a mask and have maintained the necessary distance to remain safe…and how we will manage such situations as returning to school, work, public interactions, and more. The “ocean” is roaring, and the “sea” is pounding! I don’t know about you, but I often feel like I’m trying to survive these mighty waves on an air mattress!

Here’s the thing…God is with us – and He is large and in charge. Whether we are “trying to stay dry in a summer thunderstorm” as we deal with a momentary trial – or we are being tossed about in a serious storm, such as this pandemic – God is here! He is more powerful than any crashing waves or roaring thunder. He is more wise than even a million experts collectively. God has this…and He has us. He is our “life jacket” in this storm – and all others. So let’s “tighten the straps” and hang on to our “Life Raft”. The ride may be bumpy and treacherous…but God will lead us safely to the shore.

Daily Devotional for July 8, 2020 – Calling on God in our “times of trouble”

Psalm 46:1-2
God is our refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble. And so we need not fear even if the world blows up and the mountains crumble into the sea.

The Living Bible copyright © 1971 by Tyndale House Foundation. Used by permission of Tyndale House Publishers Inc., Carol Stream, Illinois 60188. All rights reserved.

This morning, I read a National Geographic article* that reported on the tundra in Siberia burning, due to excessive heat and thawing. This creates a combustible “peat” situation – and yes, wildfires in the Arctic Circle are the end result! In turn, this contributes to global warming and creates an environmental concern for all of us. Additionally, we cannot go a day without news reports of the rise in cases of COVID-19. The pandemic is raging in many areas of the country – it did not go away with the summer heat! It would almost seem that we are left to hunt and dig to find any good news these days.

Our current state of affairs makes Psalm 46:1-2 even more timely and critical. I venture to speak for many when I say that we need to be reminded that God is our refuge and strength – especially now. God is still in control…He still cares about every breath we take. When troubles come – and for many, they are here! – God is right in the middle of them…ready, willing and able to help.

We sometimes need to be reminded that God is not at our beck and call to magically make all of our troubles disappear (although He surely could). This passage tells us that God is our “tested help” in times of trouble…our “refuge and strength”. He knows what we need. He understands how we feel. God cares about everything that happens to us – even the fires in the Arctic Circle – and surely the deadly virus that is plaguing our world, and much more.

God has a detailed and perfect plan for each of us – and if we will listen and pay attention, He will show us how to put this into action. Our job is to trust Him, and to follow Him with obedience, patience, and complete hope and faith. I will be the first to tell you that I struggle with this from time to time…but I keep working and trying. God has brought me too far to desert me now – and the same is true for you.

Let’s redouble our efforts to listen and follow God – even in this “time of trouble”, and those that may lie ahead. This Psalm brings us great news, hope and promise. To God be all glory and praise for loving us so much!

Daily Devotional for July 7, 2020 – Trusting God with our fears and anxiety…in a pandemic, and always!

Psalm 34:4
God met me more than halfway,
he freed me from my anxious fears.

Scripture quotations from The Message. © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene Peterson. Used by permission of NavPress, Colorado Springs, CO. All rights reserved.

Initially, I was incredibly fearful of COVID-19. Would we get sick? Did we already have it? Did every person I encountered have the virus? Was it safe to do XYZ – or to be around ABC? Would what happened in Europe and Asia happen in the United States?

There is an adage that knowledge is power. And while there is so much that we still do not know or fully understand about this deadly virus…there are things that we have learned in the last almost five months that can help to keep us safe. I give all credit to God, because I surely have spent plenty of time praying about this virus and asking for His wisdom and guidance. He has provided us with medical experts, virologists, epidemiologists and others who are doing the work and providing us with information that can keep us safe.

While I am still ultra-cautious, I am calmer. I have accepted that social-distancing, mask wearing, persistent hand washing, and other guidelines recommended by the CDC are our best defense for the foreseeable future. I’ve settled into something of a routine…picked up a couple of old projects that needed to be addressed and/or finished…and gained a couple of new pastimes. I’m reading more – and surely cooking more! I’ve started watching more movies – and less “news”. I’m working on a monumental project to get our family photos organized…and along the way, I am writing “family history” stories for our kids to tell them about their heritage.

God is showing me ways to reach out to others and offer encouragement and hope – from a distance. Do I still have anxious moments? Absolutely! Am I in a quandary over what to do about everything from my annual physical to when it will be safe to physically interact with our children and other family members – or get a haircut and go to the pool? You betcha! But I am less anxious than I was even a few months ago. I find that I am trusting God more and listening for His directives…and simply letting each day take care of itself in the meantime.

I am convinced that God does not want us to be enslaved to our fears. I know that He wants us to trust Him more – and worry less. And I am trying to do these things. This is a process…and I’m not fully “there” – yet! But I am in this for the long haul. The God who brought me this far is not going anywhere…and neither am I!

Daily Devotional for July 6, 2020 – Let God help you catch your breath!

Psalm 34:18
If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there;
if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath.

Scripture quotations from The Message. © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene Peterson. Used by permission of NavPress, Colorado Springs, CO. All rights reserved.

This morning, I read several articles in the current issue of the AARP Bulletin about COVID-19 and how it is changing our world…in some ways, forever. One article noted that we are likely nearing the end of printed newspapers, going to movies in theaters, and a lot of our in-restaurant dining, as cooks and wait staff move on to other jobs and don’t return. Another suggested…”Remember back when things were different…say, February?” And another offered that we will become attuned to using hand sanitizer every time we step into a building or out of our car – and masks will become a mainstay of our public wardrobe. The most interesting suggestion for me was that seniors are rethinking downsizing, because now that they are more homebound, they appreciate the extra space!

I have no doubt that we are on the cusp of a “new normal”. I hope that a lot of things that have momentarily disappeared will someday return…hugging our loved ones, gathering in (smallish) groups, in-person school for everyone, and more. And I know that the way to make this happen is to be patient, social distance, wear a mask, and take every precaution now, so that we can enjoy the people and things we love later.

I also understand that many are weary…and some have just plain given up and gone back to life as they knew it pre-COVID-19. I waffle between being frustrated (even angry) with these folks – and empathizing with them. We have all been kicked in the gut in one way or another.

The Contemporary English Version (CEV)* translates Psalm 34:18 this way…”The Lord is there to rescue all who are discouraged and have given up hope.” The message for all of us today is that when our hearts are broken, God is right there. When we are kicked in the gut, He truly will help us catch our breath. The LORD really can rescue us when we are discouraged and feeling hopeless. He is our strength, our shield, our encourager, and our promise of better days.

Spend some time today with God. Pour out your heart to Him. Don’t worry about eloquent speech – or even selfless petitions for other people and causes. Simply tell God how YOU feel. Yes, He knows already…but He wants us to get real with Him – to come clean and quit pretending everything is fine in the moments when it isn’t. God wants us to honestly, openly, admit to Him how vulnerable we are – and how much we need Him. God is working to make things better for us…and when we get in step with Him, He truly will help us to catch our breath.

Daily Devotional for June 30, 2020 – It’s time for a spiritual re-set!

Psalm 121:1-2
I look up to the mountains;
does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.

Scripture quotations from The Message. © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene Peterson. Used by permission of NavPress, Colorado Springs, CO. All rights reserved.

It never ceases to amaze me how the daily devotionals in Jesus Calling* dovetail with current events – and the events of my life on that particular day. The June 29th entry was no exception, as it spoke of how we may feel anxious about certain situations – and even ask the question, “If XYZ happens, will I be able to manage the outcome and consequences?” The explanation was that we are not alone…that we have God’s strength behind us. So the real question is not whether we can manage this situation…but rather, how will God help us to get through it together.

We must keep this in mind as we tackle the present difficulties set before us. We are not called to handle them alone. In fact, we are directed in scripture to call on the strength of God to make the difference…the strength of God who made heaven, earth and mountains…the strength of God who can call on the mountain to move – and it does!

So let’s do a little “reset” today and shift control to the One who truly has the power to make a difference. In the spirit of the June 30th entry in Jesus Calling, let’s put our trust in Jesus, who died to set us free and shift from worry about what lies ahead to confidence that with God, all things are possible. Let’s remind ourselves of the words in Philippians 4:13 that “I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.” (The Living Bible)

Reset your thinking today…quit trying to handle everything alone. God is asking us to hang on – to keep the faith and trust that He is working on all the challenges in our lives. He is calling on us to place our hand in that of Jesus Christ – and feel His strength and power, as together, we forge ahead with hope, assurance, and joy. And always, always, remember to be grateful…and to give God praise for His amazing love and care.

Daily Devotional for June 22, 2020 – Sharing the light of Christ in a hurting world…it’s time to bring a word of good cheer!

Proverbs 12:25
Worry is a heavy burden,
but a kind word
always brings cheer.

Scripture taken from the Contemporary English Version © 1991,1992, 1995 by American Bible Society, Used by Permission.

“Why was the mushroom the hit of the party? He was a fungi!”

This was the riddle I texted to Timothy a few days ago. He’s been pretty down and bored lately, and I thought it might help to cheer him up a bit. He replied… “he he he he”…and then he sent back a little video snippet of himself, smiling and waving to me. So I guess it worked – at least momentarily.

The Living Bible refers to “worry” as “anxious hearts”…and with good reason. Plenty of our hearts are anxious these days. If COVID-19 doesn’t give you pause, perhaps you are disturbed by the civil unrest in our world – and the underlying hate that has caused it. Maybe your “anxious heart” is the result of a scary diagnosis, a personal relationship difficulty, job and/or economic loss…or concern over how to get your kids to behave! Regardless of your “angst”, God understands…and I pray that He sends a kind word of cheer in your direction.

None of us is completely immune to burdens – or worry. While some surely handle stress and difficulty better than others, we all are subject to suffering from an “anxious heart” at one time or another. If we assume that every person we meet at least has the potential to be carrying a worrisome burden, it would seem that we should be continually on the lookout for opportunities to offer a word of cheer. I’ll let you in on a secret…the more we offer uplifting words to others, the more hopeful and positive you and I will feel about our own lives! Cheer and encouragement are contagious!

I know we aren’t supposed to worry. I also know that I cannot fix anything of my own accord. I realize that so many of the things that concern me are far above my “pay grade” and are solely in God’s hands. I also understand that I am human, and the devil LOVES to riddle me with anxiety – especially about things beyond my control. While I prayerfully hand my concerns to God, I must be on the lookout for ways to counterbalance the negative narrative in my head. Finding ways to bring a word of cheer generally does the trick!

This is our moment to shine as Christ’s disciples…to show others that even in the middle of a worrisome pandemic, civil unrest, and whatever else is the “problem du jour”, we can offer a ray of sunshine…a glimmer of hope…a kind word of encouragement and cheer. We can send an e-mail or text…mail a funny cartoon to someone…or simply smile at others. We can stand tall, shoulders back and “straighten our crowns” as heirs to the Throne of Grace…and we can look for ways to bring hope and joy to others and encourage them in their discipleship.

We are living in a time of some serious crises…and I do not mean to make light of them in the least. If we carefully and humbly ask God to show us how and where to “be of good cheer” on His behalf, we will never come across as flippant or disrespectful. Instead, we will be the light of Christ to a hurting world…and heal ourselves a bit in the process. When we begin to focus on making everything we say and do be for Christ’s glory, the cheerful words will come…for us and for others. Burdens will be lightened and hearts flooded with peace and comfort. And the way will be cleared for God to do the truly hard things. Hallelujah! Let’s get busy!
