Daily Devotional for May 31, 2023 – Finding life by trusting God…it’s time to trade our worries for faith!

Romans 1:17
This Good News tells us that God makes us ready for heaven—makes us right in God’s sight—when we put our faith and trust in Christ to save us. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scripture says it, “The man who finds life will find it through trusting God.”

A dear friend and I have been praying about a couple of daunting situations for several months. Both of these issues appear to have resolved themselves with positive outcomes. We reminded ourselves how worried we were…and how God provided in the end. I was speaking with a school administrator about some issues that were worrisome, and it was noted that “these may never happen.” I laughed and said, “So try not to worry unless and until they do.” Another colleague quickly quipped, “Let me know how to do that!”

I get it. As I told these folks, I come from a long line of expert worriers. It’s in my genes, and I am good at it – even when I know better. I also know that things always seem to loom larger in the wee hours of the night and seem far less daunting at light of day. Still, we are human beings – and works in progress. So, we often struggle with faith.

Paul reminds us in these verses to the Romans that there is life in trusting God…that our Salvation and redemption – and the promise of Eternal Life – are all tied up in faith and trust in Christ Jesus. Who among us doesn’t want that?! We say we trust Him, but sometimes talk is cheap. It’s time to truly “walk the walk” – and I am preaching mostly to myself! I told someone recently that I am old enough to look back on several worrisome situations and realize that my faith was weak. God was at work. He handled everything for me perfectly and never left me. But I spent a lot of time wringing my hands, feeling frustrated, and generally being upset and stressed for no reason.

I know that I am going to worry again…and so are you. But I am making a concerted effort to do better…to worry less and trust God more. I am working on giving Him my concerns – and leaving them with Him! I want to spend my time and energy living and walking in the joy and peace of knowing that Christ Jesus has me in the palm of His hand…and everything is under control. Won’t you join me? Let’s make a vow this day to worry less and live more. With Jesus, this is more than possible!  Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for May 30, 2023 – Giving our troubles to God…and trusting Him to help us

Psalm 34:17-19
Yes, the Lord hears the good man when he calls to him for help and saves him out of all his troubles.

The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking; he rescues those who are humbly sorry for their sins. The good man does not escape all troubles—he has them too. But the Lord helps him in each and every one.

The Living Bible copyright © 1971 by Tyndale House Foundation. Used by permission of Tyndale House Publishers Inc., Carol Stream, Illinois 60188. All rights reserved.

This morning, I counted at least a dozen dear people – family members, neighbors, and friends – who are dealing with troubles. These are faithful servants of God who are facing serious illnesses, grieving losses, grappling with difficult personal situations, and more. Not a one of these people did anything wrong…God is not punishing them. They are not being selectively targeted for difficulties, heartache, and stress. The Psalmist clearly tells us that the good man has troubles, too.

The difference is that these people all trust God to help them with these issues. Their faith is strong…their confidence in God is tantamount. Regardless of what comes their way, God will be right smack in the middle of it, and He will help them. Will every prayer be answered as the person desired? Not at all! God is not a magic genie. When we commit to Him, we also commit to trusting His process.

We may have to endure injury, loss, heartache, and even some sort of physical “lack.” We may not always have more than enough money to pay the bills or perfect relationships with everyone in our “circle.” As I have said many times, everybody’s got something…and sometimes, it may seem like you have more than your share. But for those who have God in their corner, there is always hope and promise. I cannot tell you how, when, or where God will work…but I know that He will. I have lived it!

I have been at the end of my rope, and God lifted me out of the deep abyss. I have come home from the hospital or nursing home after caring for a loved one and told Greg, “I’m not sure I can do this.” And he gently reminded me that God would help me…and that’s exactly what happened. I have begged God to allow a loved one to heal and live…and He called them Home anyhow. But God gave me His strength and peace to manage the grief and heartache. I have experienced disappointments, frustrations, and times of great uncertainty…and every single time, God answered my prayers and rewarded my faithfulness. And what God has done for me, He will surely do for you – and my friends, loved ones and neighbors.

You may not feel like God is saving you from your troubles when you call to Him, but I promise this is the case. His answer may not look like you expected – or desired. But it will be perfect for you and your situation. Someday – maybe in Heaven, maybe sooner – you will see everything clearly. But that’s the beauty of faith – we trust without seeing! So, commit to God today, and trust Him to handle all your worries and cares. Then learn to rest and abide in His answers and peace. This may take some practice, but I promise…the more you “let go and let God,” the more you will find comfort and confidence in His answers. Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for May 29, 2023 – Trusting God in all things…it’s time to see the Light!

Psalm 27:1
You, Lord, are the light
    that keeps me safe.
I am not afraid of anyone.
You protect me,
    and I have no fears.

Scripture taken from the Contemporary English Version © 1991,1992, 1995 by American Bible Society, Used by Permission.

My late father-in-law was an extremely early riser, and he used to gently chide us that by sleeping in, we missed a lot of pretty sunrises. He was right! Rarely am I awake early enough for a sunrise, but I have been blessed to see some doozies…and they always reminded me of God’s love and care. When I lay my head on the pillow at night, I assume that the sun will rise in the morning, and I bet you do the same. We take for granted that night will turn into day, and the light (and the LIGHT) will illuminate our path.

Think of all the things you do that require a strong light. We have all sorts of “task lighting” in our homes and businesses. Cars come with lights for night driving – and especially newer models are loaded with additional lighting of all kinds. My car has lights on running boards…lights that come on when we open the doors…lights that surround USB ports, buttons, and connections, and so much more. I am sometimes astounded when I open a compartment or push a button and lights come on that I didn’t even know were there – or that I needed them! But I am always grateful for their illumination – and the safety and assistance they afford me.

Just the other day, I was mending some garments, and I was so grateful for the bright light on my sewing machine. When I was a girl learning to sew on my grandmother’s treadle sewing machine, there was no light. Often, you had to bend down near the needle to make sure you were starting in the right place…and then you had to sit near a window or lamp with bright light to ensure that your stitches were straight and correct.

God’s light is continual and perfect…always and in all ways. From the sun that warms our planet and gives us light each day to the countless innovations created because God gives certain people incredible intelligence and forethought, our way is continually lighted by our Heavenly Father. In the Spiritual sense, God is always ready, willing, and able to light our path and give us perfect direction…to show us what He designed for us – and to help us accomplish these things.

The next time you flip a light switch or watch a sunrise, remind yourself just how much God cares about us. Consider how safe and secure you feel in His love and light – and give Him praise for this assurance. Trust God to always guide and guard you with His perfect illumination, and thank Him for being the Light! Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for May 28, 2023 – Trusting God and resting in His beauty and love…we truly don’t need a thing!

Psalm 23:1-6
God, my shepherd!
I don’t need a thing.
You have bedded me down in lush meadows,
you find me quiet pools to drink from.
True to your word,
you let me catch my breath
and send me in the right direction.
Even when the way goes through
Death Valley,
I’m not afraid
when you walk at my side.
Your trusty shepherd’s crook
makes me feel secure.
You serve me a six-course dinner
right in front of my enemies.
You revive my drooping head;
my cup brims with blessing.
Your beauty and love chase after me
every day of my life.
I’m back home in the house of God
for the rest of my life.

Scripture quotations from The Message. © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene Peterson. Used by permission of NavPress, Colorado Springs, CO. All rights reserved.

Yesterday, Greg and I were invited next door by our neighbors for a visit on their deck. We are blessed to live along a bluff line that overlooks the Little Red River, just below Greers Ferry Dam. While the view from every house on our ridge is slightly different, most of us can see a portion of the lake above the dam. Yesterday, it was filled with boaters eager to soak in every possible minute of the “summer season” and taking advantage of beautiful Memorial Day weekend weather. We also watched birds fly around us and perch at the feeders and in the trees.

I became curious about a particular bird perched in the tree, and we determined it to be a Ruby-throated Hummingbird. Greg said to me, “You are becoming quite the bird lady, aren’t you?!” Indeed, I am fascinated by songbirds, partly because they offer us so many lessons and examples of God’s love and care. And as I read today’s scripture passage – words so familiar to all of us – I once again thought of the birds and how they exemplify the Psalmist’s declarations.

The first sentence is a powerful one…“God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing.” How many of us can say this – and mean it? Do we really recognize God’s “lush meadows and quiet pools?” Do we fully trust God’s directions? Are we afraid of death – or the earthly challenges that befall us? Do we worry too much about what others think – or how they treat us? Does our head droop at times – and do we feel God lifting our chin and giving us renewed strength and courage? Do we genuinely feel at home in God and rest in His blessings and care?

IMG_4914
House finches (left), Blue Grosbeak (top right), and Indigo Bunting (bottom right) all feed together.

In my opinion, the songbirds do all these things quite well. They go about their business with an innate confidence that their needs will be met. A bigger, more aggressive bird may flap its wings and push the smaller ones off the feeder perches. But we have noticed a large contingent of birds, squirrels, and chipmunks feeding almost continually on the ground underneath the feeder on seeds that have fallen there. God brilliantly, creatively, and safely feeds all! The last few nights, we have heard an almost-eerie screech/scream outside. It is the “begging call” of Great Horned Owls – most likely babies who are telling Mom and Dad, “We’re hungry!” And surely, food and protection have been provided.

I am blessed to say that beauty and love chase after me every day…both seen and unseen. My “cup runneth over” with blessings of all kinds, including the beauty of my surroundings and the opportunity to sit and watch the birds and listen to their “talk.” But more importantly, beauty and love chase me…and fill me. And the more I sit quietly with His birds and other “critters” and ponder how they navigate their world, the more I understand the intricacies of God’s love and care. I’ve only scratched the surface…I have lots more sitting and pondering to do. My prayer is that you would sit a while and think on God’s love and care for all of us. Thank Him – for everything – and make it your aim to trust Him more every day. Because God is our shepherd, we truly don’t need a thing! Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for May 27, 2023 – Letting God lead us down His paths…and trusting Him with our whole heart

Proverbs 3:5-6
With all your heart
you must trust the Lord
    and not your own judgment.
Always let him lead you,
and he will clear the road
    for you to follow.

Scripture taken from the Contemporary English Version © 1991,1992, 1995 by American Bible Society, Used by Permission.

You are probably familiar with these verses. In the King James Version, we read…

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I love the varied translations of verses and how one writer’s “take” on the verse is just a little different than another. The message is the same, but the emphasis might be rearranged a bit. In the Contemporary English Version, the writer tells us to trust the LORD, and not our own judgment…to let Him lead us, and He will clear the road. If you have ever talked with God and asked Him to help you with something – and then you got what you believed was a clear “sign” – you understand this passage.

I’ll give you a couple of examples. Greg and I both got college degrees and entered careers that were in our chosen “fields of study.” Several years later, we were at a crossroads. We wanted to do something different, but what? We began to talk late into the night about possibilities and the pros and cons of each. And we prayed about what to do. Meanwhile, I sought a teaching position in another building – at another grade level. I was all but assured I had the job. And then the principal of that building called and told me he chose someone else.

I was devastated…confused…and I truly felt defeated. But God used this as a catalyst to propel our plans into high gear to change directions. Now I see all too clearly that not getting this position was a “clear road” to what would become a completely new career and rewarding life in our hometown, near family and friends, working side-by-side with my soulmate for the next thirty-five-plus years.

A more recent example would center on the COVID pandemic. We are in “kid birthday season” in our family. We’ve recently celebrated the 14th birthday of our nephew, and this week, it is time to revel in the 12th birthday of our niece. We are grateful that “life” has somewhat returned to “normal,” and we are able to revel in these events indoors and sit together around the dining table to share a meal and all things “party.”

But during the pandemic, we prayed for options to celebrate while remaining socially distanced. God led us to the Internet for creative ideas and online ordering. He blessed us with great weather for outdoor celebrations and drive-by parades to wish the honorees a Happy Birthday. We were granted unseasonably warm weather for outdoor Christmas and Valentines celebrations on the driveway – and other visits in between. And when the vaccines became available – and Greg and I were eligible to get them – this was our “sign” that we could give our kids long-overdue hugs, which they declared to be “the best hug I ever got!” (We agreed!) And we could once again invite our family to come inside our home for visits, meals, parties and holiday celebrations.

I could share dozens of examples where I asked God to show me His plans, and a “sign” was given. I bet you can do the same. The point is that sometimes, we try to fly by the seat of our pants, and this almost NEVER works. The more we stay close to God and live in His word and will, the more we will trust His “signs” and messages. And as we make it a habit to follow His paths, we will be able to rest in this process, recognize God’s voice, and believe in His promises.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Always let Him lead you, and He will clear the road for you to walk in His perfect plans. And remember to give God glory and praise for His amazing love and care. Our God is truly awesome, and we need to be sure we tell Him! Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for May 26, 2023 – God’s will vs. public opinion – it’s time to let go and give Him control!

Proverbs 29:25
The fear of human opinion disables;
trusting in God protects you from that.

Scripture quotations from The Message. © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene Peterson. Used by permission of NavPress, Colorado Springs, CO. All rights reserved.

If you have lived very long at all, you’ve likely had to make some hard decisions in life. Whether it is deciding to get married, to change jobs or professions, to move to another home, city, or state – or even to move to a different church, life is a series of changes and choices that may not always be popular. Several years ago, I adopted the mantra that “I move when God tells me to move…and not until then.” God has never steered me in the wrong direction, though some have thought my “moves” were sometimes a little crazy at the time.

Proverbs 18:10 tells us…“The Lord is a strong fortress. The godly run to him and are safe.” [The Living Bible]  More than once, I have felt God nudge me in a direction that I knew some would feel was a little nuts or unorthodox. But I also knew that whatever God takes us to, He will see us through…so I jumped in with both feet. Even during the COVID pandemic, when we took a lot of flak from some for isolating and wearing masks, I knew that this was God’s directive for me…and I don’t regret my decision. And as far as Greg and I know, we never contracted the virus. Some insist that the vaccines are unsafe and/or unnecessary, but Greg and I both felt that God wanted us to be fully vaxxed and boosted.

When we made the difficult decision to quit our jobs and move back to our hometown to start a new business, even many in our own family questioned our sanity. But we knew this was God’s plan for us, and we could not be prouder of the company we developed and how it has helped so many other people to forego human opinion and do what God designed for them. I am sure that we are partly responsible for hundreds of couples selling their homes and belongings to move into an RV and “hit the road,” because this is what God led them to do, despite the reservations of their family members and friends!

I return to my “mantra” – move when God moves you. Don’t let others control you, berate you, or shame you into doing something you know is not God-sanctioned. Run to God and feel the safety and security of His assurance that when you follow His will, you will be safe. We all care far too much what the other person thinks – and not nearly enough about what God desires! It’s time to change this…to trust Him and follow His lead. Run to God and feel His protection. Trust His word and will over that of mere mortals. Let go, and let God have complete control! Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for May 25, 2023 – It’s time to “take out the trash” – nothing is as valuable as trusting Jesus!

Philippians 3:7-9
But Christ has shown me that what I once thought was valuable is worthless. Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count it all as garbage. All I want is Christ and to know that I belong to him. I could not make myself acceptable to God by obeying the Law of Moses. God accepted me simply because of my faith in Christ.
Scripture taken from the Contemporary English Version © 1991,1992, 1995 by American Bible Society, Used by Permission.

Decades ago, the cousin of a friend died in a car wreck. My friend went to sit with the family and attend the funeral. She was terribly upset that the first words this cousin’s wife uttered to her were…“He was going to buy me a fur coat!” If ever there was an example of misplaced value, this was it! I always find it strange that the first instinct for some when a loved one dies is to think about his/her personal belongings – and often start asking for them! “Now remember, Aunt Susie said I get the Wedgewood teapot and her diamond cocktail ring,” or some semblance of this sentence is uttered far too frequently!

Often, there is little to no talk about the actual person – it is about their “stuff.” And we do this in so many areas of our lives. Our personal gratification and accumulation of “wealth,” friends, accolades and more are valued far and above what Jesus offers us, which is quite ridiculous, if we are honest. Without Jesus, nothing else matters. And the cool thing is that all it “costs” us to avail ourselves of every blessing Christ offers is to simply surrender to Him and trust Him.

You don’t have to look a certain way or belong to a specific race, gender, social group, sexual orientation, or religious denomination in order to be accepted by God through the blood of Jesus. You don’t have to travel in certain circles or live in a specific neighborhood (or even country) to be a redeemed disciple of Jesus Christ. You don’t have to wear fur coats, diamond rings, and designer clothes – or drive a fancy car, dine in four-star restaurants, and belong to the country club. And until some of us “strip down” and get right and real with Christ, we are never going to fully understand this – or operate in the blessings and anointing of Christ Jesus.

Some of the most blessed, faithful and Spirit-filled people I can think of have virtually nothing that society values. But oh, how Jesus loves them. Make this your aim. Trust Jesus to supply your every need. Spend some time today in personal examination. Ask God to show you where you have valued possessions and “status” over a relationship with Him. Then make every necessary adjustment. You are precious in His sight, just as you are. Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for May 24, 2023 – It’s time to say, “Yes I can” to Jesus – and mean it!

Mark 9:23
Jesus replied, “Why do you say ‘if you can’? Anything is possible for someone who has faith!”

Scripture taken from the Contemporary English Version © 1991,1992, 1995 by American Bible Society, Used by Permission.

Think about all the times you say the phrase, “If I can.” Sometimes, you truly mean it, as in “I am supposed to keep my grandchildren tomorrow, but if I can I’ll come to the meeting.” In this case, if you can find someone else to watch the kids for a bit, you might be able to attend the meeting. Or maybe you have said, “I will be glad to help if I can.” You genuinely mean, “If there is a task that I feel I am qualified and able to complete, I will be glad to help with this endeavor.”

More often, “If I can” is something of an “out” – or at best an expression of inadequacy. You say, “I’ll come to the meeting if I can”…but all the time you are saying this, your inner voice is saying, “I won’t be going to that meeting!”  OR…you say, “I will be glad to help if I can,” but what you really mean is “This is way beyond my capabilities and/or comfort zone, but I don’t want to look disinterested. They know my limitations – they’ll never really call on me!”

I don’t know about you, but I grew up hearing, “Can’t never did anything!” In other words, the response, “I can’t”- or “If I can”- was not acceptable! We always had to try. Jesus tells us in this brief verse from Mark 23 that “If I can” has no place in our relationship with Him. There is no “If I can find the time or get away,” because Jesus will always make all the arrangements. There is no, “I will help if I can,” because Jesus can surely equip you for anything He calls you to do! And there is absolutely no instance in which it is appropriate to say, “Lord, if You can!” because with Christ, all things are possible. If He leads us to it, Jesus will get us through it!

The words of my mother and grandmothers are completely applicable to our relationship with Jesus…“Can’t never did anything.” Everything is possible for someone who has faith in Jesus Christ. It’s time to truly demonstrate our confidence when our Master calls, and answer with a hearty and genuine, “Yes I can!” Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for May 23, 2023 – Asking God to “move mountains” with a spirit of forgiveness, humility, and faith

Mark 11:22-25
Jesus was matter-of-fact: “Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, ‘Go jump in the lake’—no shuffling or hemming and hawing—and it’s as good as done. That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.”

Scripture quotations from The Message. © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene Peterson. Used by permission of NavPress, Colorado Springs, CO. All rights reserved.

My “quote of the day” calendar entry for today said this…

Mother: “Kids, what are you arguing about?”  David: “Oh, there isn’t any argument. Lisa thinks I’m not going to give her half of my candy, and I think the same thing.”

You and I often think that God is going to answer our prayers in a certain way…our way. And at first glance, the words of Jesus in this passage from Mark 11 would seem to support that theory. But this is not really what Jesus is saying. He doesn’t literally mean that if you go outside and ask God to move a mountain, the mountain will move (although God surely could do this if He desired). The more realistic explanation is that the word “mountain” is a metaphor for what we are asking God…and God’s answers will line up with His plans, not our own. So just because the sister thought her brother should give her half his candy did not mean that he would…and she was right to assume this wasn’t going to happen!

Does this mean that we should assume what we ask of God won’t happen, either? Absolutely not! But we must remember that God answers according to His perfect plans and desires – not our own. God sees so much we cannot see. I remember asking God to heal my classmate, Sandra, of her breast cancer. She was a single mother with two little boys to rear. I remember feeling “survivor’s guilt” when Sandra died in 1994 at age 37. Why her and not me? I didn’t have any children at the time. Surely the world would have survived far better without me than her!

Now, almost 30 years later, I see so many things I couldn’t have seen then. I am not saying that the world would not have survived without me, but I do see what God had planned for me…the people in my family who needed my help…the business Greg and I cultivated that helped thousands of people, and more. I don’t say this to brag…I tell you this to show you that YOU are here for a reason. And when God decides we have fulfilled His earthly plans for us, He will shift us to the next leg of our eternal journey. He’s got plans for that, too! The point is that when we ask God for things, we must trust that He will answer in a way that “moves the mountain” to perfectly fit His grander plans.

The other part of this is that we are called to pray in a spirit of forgiveness. We cannot come before God and ask Him to forgive us if we are harboring any ill will or unforgiveness toward others. It just doesn’t make any sense, does it? Why would God want to forgive us and help us when we are so unloving and unkind toward another of His children? Why would God want to “move mountains” for a person who discriminates, disparages, is bigoted and biased? Before we ask God for anything, we must make sure that we are thinking, speaking and acting as Christ commanded. We must humbly and genuinely love others and ask God to forgive us of any ways that we have failed in these efforts. THEN, we can present our concerns and desires to Him for consideration.

God is not a magic genie. His plans are so far beyond what we can imagine and understand. God loves us more than we will ever know, and He wants to answer our prayers. When we come before Him with the right spirit and attitude – and an expectation that He will answer perfectly – we can rest assure that our petitions are heard. We can hold our head high and trust that we are in the incomparable care of the Most High God as we trust Him to guide and guard every one of our steps. And this is better than half the candy any day! Alleluia!

Daily Devotional for May 22, 2023 – Milo, millet and mustard seed faith…when it comes to faith in Jesus, bigger isn’t better!

Luke 17:5-6
One day the apostles said to the Lord, “We need more faith; tell us how to get it.”

“If your faith were only the size of a mustard seed,” Jesus answered, “it would be large enough to uproot that mulberry tree over there and send it hurtling into the sea! Your command would bring immediate results!

Tufted Titmouse (right) extracts a black oil sunflower seed from the feeder. Chipping Sparrow feeds on the back left perch.

Last night, I watched a Tufted Titmouse perch on our bird feeder and literally shovel out the seed. White proso millet, milo, and wheat fell to the ground until finally, this guy grabbed a big black oil sunflower seed.

IMG_5080
Little blurry because the Tufted Titmouse was busy chipping away at his sunflower seed shell, trying to get to the “meat” inside.

Then he spent several seconds pecking at it on his perch until the shell fell away, and he ate the big seed inside. Meanwhile, squirrels, Mourning Doves, and other birds waited on the ground and quickly made a feast out of the seeds this bird deemed too small and insignificant.

I don’t know if you have ever seen mustard seeds, but they are tiny. They are somewhere in between poppy seeds and milo or millet in size. And yet, Jesus says if we have even that much faith, we could tell a tree to uproot itself and move to the ocean – and it would!

If the object is to be fed, birds and squirrels will continue eating until their bellies are full. That silly Tufted Titmouse throws out a lot of “good seed,” just to get to the one he wants – and he is going to work far harder to fill his belly! Sometimes, you and I are so hungry for “more faith,” when Jesus tells us that all we need is right in front of us. When it comes to being spiritually filled and covered, one tiny seed is all we need.

Don’t miss the point Jesus made to His disciples. The size of your faith is not the issue…faith in our Heavenly Father is one-size-fits-all.  You either have it or you don’t. Too many people trust Jesus for some things, but not all of them. They waste time sifting and sorting, looking for that feeling of “big faith.” Meanwhile, Jesus tells us that even the tiniest seed of faith is all we need for amazing things to happen in our lives. So quit “sitting on the perch digging for a sunflower seed” when the millet or milo will do quite nicely. Simply let go, trust God…and see where your faith takes you. God’s “feeder” is open – and all can be fed. Alleluia!
